Funtastic Friday!

October 21, 2016 by Movement One

Happy Friday!

Today during circle time we talked about the season of Fall and of course that means pumpkins! Ms. Ruth was so kind enough to bring us pumpkins from Froberg’s Farm. We each took turns holding and touching the pumpkins. We talked about the different sizes of the pumpkins and how some where small and some were bigger. We also talked about the stems, ribs, rind, and blossom end of each pumpkin. Some pumpkins had longer stems while some pumpkins had nearly no stem. We also pointed out how some of the pumpkin rind was very smooth while some had tiny bumps. Our friends enjoyed rolling the pumpkins to each other. We hope everybody enjoys the weather and has a nice weekend!

This morning the children were shown the Geometric Solids. This lesson helps teach the names of geometric shapes and identification of things found in our environment that are those shapes. You can help your child by pointing out objects and asking them to tell you what geometric shape it resembles.

Book orders are in. Thank you for ordering books. You can find your child’s order in their backpack.

This morning during Jumpbunch class the children enjoyed using their gross motor and coordination skills jumping over hurdles. Ask your child if they were able to master this skill.

Tomorrow is dance class. Dance begins at 9:30.

Hello!!

We hope everyone is having a great day! This morning we explored the colorful world of Pablo Picasso. The children viewed some of his art pieces and then set out to let their creative juices flow, as they made their very own mini Picassos. Being an artist is fun!!
