Teacher Appreciation Week – National Teacher Day

May 6, 2014 by

Teacher Appreciation Week is upon us and it’s National Teacher Day today! The National Education Association describes National Teacher Day as “a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives”. The role of a teacher is an important one in the lives of children today. They sometimes act as another set of parents that educate, guide, and enrich our children every day. Make sure to thank a teacher for all that they do to provide our children with the knowledge necessary to success in the future!

Parent’s Night Out Planning Meeting – Thursday, March 13, 2014

March 10, 2014 by T. Jackson

Hello parents,

It is time to start planning our annual Parents Night Out. For those of you new to our school, each year the parents of Cathedral House host a fundraising night to honor the wonderful teachers and staff of Cathedral House that care for our children.

It is a fun evening for parents to meet, socialize and help raise some money. And while we are having a fun evening, your children will be having pizza pajama party at the school with the teachers.

In order to make this night a success WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please bring your lunch and join the PNO Planning Committee on THURSDAY, MARCH 13 at NOON on the second floor of the school.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Daylight Savings Time

March 7, 2014 by

It’s that time of year again! Daylight Savings Time is scheduled for this Sunday, March 9th. Please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour!

PLEASE NOTE: Getting an extra hour of daylight in the evening is sometimes a hard adjustment for children. Their bodies and minds need a couple of weeks to adjust to the darker mornings and lighter evenings. It is harder to get them to sleep at their usual bedtimes until they become accustomed to this change. Keeping routines consistent can be very helpful for both you and your child.
