It’s Thursday!!!

And again the rain came down. But that didn’t stop us!! During circle we sang songs about the rain, diligently did our classroom lessons and had a rousing game of Twister. The children also continued working on their butterfly project, which was a follow up to our insect lesson.

Hello Everyone!

This morning we had a classroom discussion about the different types of bugs found in the garden. The children learned the names of some new bugs and recognized many they already knew. We then enjoyed a game of musical

chairs (insect edition). Where the children got to walk around the chairs, sit and then name the insect/bug found on their chair.

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. This morning in Music Mr Jason had the children up and moving with some new songs that were very interactive. The children also got an impromptu visit from Tiny the Dinosaur and listened/ danced to music from Eric Clapton. But as always our time with Mr Jason could not end without a classroom bear hug! The Pink Tower

The Pink Tower is found in the Sensorial area of a Montessori classroom. It helps the child develop a visual awareness of dimension and size. It promotes gross motor and fine motor skills as well as preparing the child for beginning math concepts.

This morning while the girls were at Dance class, the boys did great, working with their Montessori lessons quietly and independently. In the photo below, Parker is working with a one to one correspondence lesson found in the Math area. One to one correspondence simply means being able to match one object to another. He also worked on quantity and numeral recognition as well as organizational skills.
