What do we use to help us learn about things? We use our 5 senses. Ask your child to name their 5 senses for you. You can practice this skill at home by asking them which of the 5 senses we use to learn more about our soundings. For example. How do you know when someone is cooking? We smell it. So, we are using our sense of smell.

The word of the day in Soccer Shots is, Patience. The children learned that this means to wait your turn kindly. All soccer Shots children received a new Soccer Shots Jersey today. Please check your child’s backpack for it.

Tomorrow is chapel. This class begins at 10:30. All parents of children who had a birthday in Sept. and who have one in Oct. will have a special birthday prayer during chapel time. All these children are asked to bring 5 coins to place in a special birthday bank. All parents of these children are invited to attend with us.

This morning we discussed light source from a flashlight and learned that a battery placed in it correctly will make it work. The children enjoyed experimenting with taking a flashlight apart and putting it back together. They were very excited when the light turned on after putting it together.

During music class we enjoyed singing Halloween songs like 5 Little pumpkins. Ask your child their favorite Halloween song. Each child also had a turn to play the Bells.

In Kindergarten we have a variety of games that the children play. This game is called, Apple Picking. It helps teach letter recognition of both upper and lowercase letters. Group games are a fun way to help children learn about taking turns, social interaction, sharing, waiting, expanding verbal communication skills and best of all quality time with a friend of family member. What kind of games does your family enjoy playing?

Monday is Music class.

This class begins at 2:30.

Enjoy your weekend and the beautiful weather.

Sibling pictures went well this morning. The rest of the Kindergarten children will have their pictures taken on Friday.

During chapel Ms. Kari Ann read a story called, The Chief Priests. It helped us learn that we can change our ways when we choose to do things that are not appropriate. It also taught us the importance of listening. The children enjoyed singing the song, Jesus Loves Me and adding sign language to it.

Tomorrow is Jump Bunch at 10:30 and Arts Alive at 2:00. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for these classes.

Today is the last day to place your child’s book order.

You may do this on line.
