This morning during circle time we introduced a second component to an older lesson. The lesson is Sight Words Gumball. The children visually search for matching sight words and read them. Their paper lesson helps reinforce their work and expands their sight word vocabulary with color words.

During music class, the children enjoyed their class time with Mr. Jason. He is always so fun and energetic. They really enjoyed learning about the Reed instrument called the Concertina. A Concertina is similar to an Accordion.

Tomorrow is Soccer Shots. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

This morning the children got to be part of a volcano experiment. The children got to help mix and place the ingredients inside the volcano. Ask your child what happened after we placed the ingredients inside the volcano and added water?

Tomorrow is splash day.

Don’t forget to bring a towel and wear safe water shoes.

This is what our naptime looks like for all but one child after a fun day off to celebrate Independence Day. We hope the parents enjoyed their celebrations just as much as the children did.

Tomorrow is Jumpbunch class. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

This morning we made a fun Patriotic Firework hanger with the children’s foot. This activity is coming home today, so please enjoy your child’s footprint craft. We also read the book, God Bless Our Country. This story sparked a lot of conversation about the plans many Families will be celebrating Independence Day. If you would like to snap a 4th of July picture for your child to show for show-n-tell you may email them to me at kindergarten@discoverches.org.

Cathedral House is closed Tuesday, July 4th. Have a Fun and Safe Independence Day.

Wednesday is Dance class. This class begins at 9:30.
