Cathedral House Kindergarteners’ artwork makes it to Capitol Hill

Aaron Carrara, Business Development Manager for Metropolitan Montessori Schools, led a delegation of ten Texas early childhood advocates to attend the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Public Policy Forum in Washington D.C. on February 26-28, 2017.  The forum provided state teams an opportunity to advance federal and state early childhood policy while exploring policy options aimed at helping advance the early childhood profession.

Participants soaked in a full day of expert policy briefings, skill-building sessions, and interactive breakouts – all revolving around early education policy.  The event was capped off with state teams heading to Capitol Hill to meet with United States Representatives and Senators.  Aaron and his team met with a number of Texas Congressmen, including Representative Pete Olson, Senator Ted Cruz’s office and John Cornyn’s office to discuss federal funding for early childhood education, tax policy, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) & more.

Cathedral House Kindergarten students created a variety of beautiful artwork that Aaron left in the Congressional offices he visited.  The artwork was received on Capitol Hill with heartfelt smiles and thanks from all!

Moms Night Out

If you missed Moms Night Out this past Thursday at Elaine Turner in Rice Village, you missed these lovely ladies raising money for our school! We are so very grateful for all the time and effort these moms put in to making this event a huge success. Thank you ladies for all that you do for us!

We will be having school pictures Wednesday, September 30th – Friday, October 2nd! Pictures of the children will be taken at their scheduled class times on the following days:

Wednesday – Sibling families

Thursday – Movement I and II, Toddler I and II

Friday – Nursery I and II, Primary I and II, Kindergarten

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

The staff at Cathedral House would like to thank all the parents for putting together such a thoughtful Teachers Appreciation Luncheon on Friday. The gifts, food, and door prizes were more than we ever could have imagined. We truly appreciate your time and generosity. The most memorable part of the entire celebration once again was the reprized entertainment segments. All of the sweet things that you do for us does not go unnoticed and we could not be more grateful for you all. It is an honor to be given the opportunity to make impressions on the lives of your children. Thank you for making our job so easy and rewarding. We can’t say it enough: thank you, thank you, thank you!

A special thank you to the ladies who hosted the luncheon, waited on us, and ensured that we had relaxing lunches. Their representation clearly showed all of the hard work that all of the parents put into making it such a fun event for all. Thank YOU!
