Tuesday. September. 26, 2017

September 26, 2017 by Kindergarten

This morning the children learned about John Chapman, otherwise known as Johnny Appleseed. We also took part in an apple tasting experiment. Each child got to taste 3 different types of apples, then chart their favorite on our graph. As you can see below, the Golden Delicious apple was favored by most of the children. This is an easy experiment to try at home and the best time of year to taste a variety of apples.

The word of the day in Soccer Shots is Dedication. Ask your child what that means. The children also enjoyed playing a game that challenged their gross motor control and soccer skills, called Stars and Moon.

Tomorrow is Chapel. This class begins at 10:30. All children who celebrated a birthday in September and will be celebrating a birhtday in October will have a special birthday prayer said for them on Wed. Oct. 4. All parents of these children are invited to attend chapel on Wed. Oct. 4. All birthday children being honored are asked to bring 5 coins to place in the special birthday bank.

Book orders are due tomorrow. You may order on line or send your child’s choices to school along with a check made payable to Scholastic book clubs.
