November 16, 2017 by Primary One

We talked about the first thanksgiving during our circle today. We learned that the Pilgrims sailed across the ocean on a ship called The Mayflower and landed in a town called Plymouth. We also learned that the Pilgrims received help from the Native Americans to build their homes, plant vegetables, hunting, and making fire without matches. During our work time the children worked on a color by number turkey worksheet. They are excited to take it home and show off their coloring skills.

The children had fun playing with “snow” in Jumpbunch. Coach Luca brought in “snow balls” for them to throw and collect in a basket. They had a great time!

We continued to talk about manners and what we are thankful for. The children started working on a I am thankful writing worksheet, sharing what they are thankful for.

During our circle time we worked on numeration (1-5) and (1-10) with our Thanksgiving one to one counting cards and our table setting lesson from our math and practical life areas.

The children started working on a fun art project. Be on the look out for it soon.

This morning we had a lesson from the Science shelf. The lesson about the four seasons. Children matched picture cards of things like coats, snowflakes, falling leaves, a sand castle, etc. under the appropriate season we experience those things in.

Tomorrow is Jump Bunch class. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

Do you know your child’s schedule for the Holidays? If so, please inform us of any days your child will be out.
