Toilet Paper Roll Fireworks

June 27, 2017 by Movement One

Welcome Back!

We kicked this week off with some patriotic artwork. The children created fireworks out of toilet paper rolls and paint. We created the firework shape by cutting the rolls into strips so that when the children pressed down it would create a firework silhouette. Creating these fireworks not only engaged the children’s creative sides but also encouraged them to use their fine motor skills (holding the roll) and gross motor skills (the up and down motion). Here is a video of Everett demonstrating –

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend.

We worked on our stereognostic sense( the ability to identify objects by touch without seeing them) with our new dinosaur mystery bag! We learned the names of two new dinosaurs as we named each dinosaur before putting them in our mystery bag. The children could not wait to work with the lesson.

We had a great visiting with Jack the skunk, shaking egg shakers, and dancing during the Freeze Game in music class.

Soccer Shots tomorrow!

This morning we learned a little bit about Volcanos such as the Lava, Magma, Ash Cloud and Crater. Ask your child to describe these parts to you.

Say Hello to Jack. He joined our music class and helped the children sing the song, I know and Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bug.

Tomorrow is Soccer Shots. This class begins at 11:15. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes to wear.

Will your child be out any during the week of 4th of July? Please share their schedule with us.
