Did you know a leaf has a job?

We learned that a leaf makes food for the tree called chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. We also worked on a Fall Leaves art project. The children were excited to use q-tips to paint the leaves. Take a look at their art work displayed in the classroom.

The children were excited to discover that we have a donation for our food drive!

Gymnastics Mondays

November 3, 2016 by Toddler One

Our toddlers love going to gymnastics class every Monday morning! They get to exercise their gross motor skills and burn off some extra energy along the way. It also develops flexibility, strength, balance, speed, coordination, power, and discipline.

Thank you and have a wonderful evening!

Did you know a leaf has two little leaves that are part of it?

We worked with the leaf nomenclature lesson and learned the names of some of the parts of the leaf: blade, margin, veins, petiole, and stipules. The stipules are two small leaves that are on the petiole( a little stem on the leaf). We also read the book “The Leaves on the Trees” and had fun singing the song.

Coach Lean brought a fun game to practice our balancing. The children had a great time.

Today we read the book “Why Should I Listen” about a boy named Joe who discovered he missed out on things, got lost, and sometimes got in trouble when he did not listen. He also did not like when no one listened to him. The children enjoyed the story and decided that they would try their best to be listeners.

The children had a good time breathing and stretching in yoga and enjoyed singing in chapel.

Please take a look at the sign posted on our classroom door about a food drive. Our class would like your help in joining with the Primary II class in collecting non- perishable foods benefiting the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry
