This morning during music class Mr. Jason read the book, Go Away Big Green Monster to us. After the story the children enjoyed a fun and spooky monster hunt. Ask your child if they ran away after finding the monster.

Happy Birthday Sarah! Thank you for sharing yummy cookies with us.

Are your calendars marked for the Fall Festival? The children are looking forward to this fun event which will take place Friday, October 28. The parade will begin at 4:15. The festivities will begin immediately after the parade. You will be able to pick your child up in the Kindergarten class to take them to the Festival. Please remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult. If another parent will take your child to the festival please inform the Kindergarten teachers who will be picking them up.

Tomorrow is Soccer Shots. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

October Music

October 24, 2016 by toddlertwo

Happy Monday Everyone;

It’s been a couple of weeks since a music blog was sent so I tried to capture in pictures little snapshots to share. As usual, Mr. Jason has friends that come along for the journey. This month there was Verdi the lamb, and Mr. Spider. Upon each visit there was a dancing journey involved. There were also instruments shared. Egg shakers with Verdi. Oh yes, also Ollie the elephant who just begged to play the drum. Of course Mr. Jason let him play the drum with his trunk. This was quite the experience.

Today we a story read about the “BIG Green Monster”. Basically He had to go away. His mouth was huge, but we were not scared. He was really funny. So again we look forward to seeing what Mr. Jason has for next week. He has been reminding us about Trick or Treat safety, so we will be aware and still have ghouls of fun.

October 24, 2016 by Primary One

Welcome back, we hope everyone enjoyed the great weather this weekend.

Do you know what a spider spins its web out of? On circle we read a book about spiders, we learned that a spider makes its web out of silk and silk is something humans use to make clothes. We also learned that spiders live all over the world and that most spiders have eight eyes but sometimes they have less. The children enjoyed learning some facts about spiders and looking at pictures of spiders.

We had a SPOOKTACULAR music class! Mr. Jason played Halloween songs on his guitar for us to sing , we even used our spooky voices sing the ABC’s. The children had a great time having a dance party to Halloween music.

On circle we reviewed the lessons that were presented on line this week: lifecycle of a pumpkin, pumpkin scrubbing, jack-o-lantern face matching, and jack-o-lantern nomenclature. We also presented a new lesson from the math area: pumpkin counting. The children counted pumpkins on cards and used a clothes pin to mark the correct numeral.

The children had a great time during our playtimes. They enjoyed the cool breeze the cooler weather brought.
