Today we worked with a jack-o-lantern nomenclature lesson. We learned that a pumpkin can turn into a jack-o-lantern by giving it eyes, a nose, and a mouth. The children can also make a booklet to share the parts of a jack-o-lantern at home.

The children practiced their jumping skills in Jumpbunch class. Coach Leon brought in different size hurdles for the children to jump over. The children had a great time!

On circle we worked with a new jack-o-lantern face matching lesson. The children matched picture cards of jack-o-lanterns with different emotions: scared, happy, smiley, laughing, and sad.

The children enjoyed yoga this morning. They are working on sitting and breathing quietly as well as working on cloud throwing and tree positions.

This morning during Yoga the children were practicing their Thinker Pose. This move (the crossing of legs on top of each other) was a little challenging for some. Try practicing this move with your child at home.

Tomorrow is Jumpbunch class. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

There are a few Lakeshore coupons on our Kindergarten bulletin board. Please feel free to stop by and pick one up.

Hi There!!

For the past two weeks the children have been excited to learn new poems and finger plays that are a part of the festive Halloween season. Today, the children did a fantastic job as they participated in a wonderful short skit, portraying the Five Little Jack O Lanterns. If you would like to view a short video of the production, please see below.

On circle we reviewed the lifecycle of a pumpkin lesson. The children were surprised that pumpkins are not orange all the time.

The children were eager to work with our new lesson in the practical life area: Pumpkin Scrubbing.

The children can scrub clean a pumpkin, the pumpkin they are cleaning is a white pumpkin!

Lots of goals were scored during soccer shots. The children had a great time.
