The children are enjoying working with lessons that help further develop their visual skills. Our lesson today was the Red Rods. The children place ten rods in random order of different lengths on their rug. Then they visually place them in order from longest too shortest. By working with this lesson they are also expanding their ability to comprehend what longest looks like and what shortest looks like.

The word of the day in Soccer shots was Sharing. Ask your child what that means.

Tomorrow is Yoga and Chapel. Yoga begins at 9:00. Girls are encouraged to wear shorts under their dresses. Chapel begins at 10:30.

Our annual pumpkin patch is this Thursday from 4:30 -6:00. All children attending must be accompanied by their parent.

On circle we worked with the sink and float lesson in the science area. We observed a cork, straw, paperclip, scissors, car, block, crayon, and a sponge in water and categorized them into things that sink and float.

The children were excited to discover the new Halloween objects in our Practical life area. The children worked on their pincer finger grasp as they hung ghost on a clothes line using clothes pins.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend.

In music class we had a visit from Mr. Jason’s friend Verdie the lamb. The children were very excited to sing “Mary had a little lamb” to him. Verdie brought shakers for the children to play.

Did you know that our Earth is a sphere shape? Today we talked about Christopher Columbus’ voyage across the Atlantic Ocean with his three ships The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria and the discovery of new land and an Earth that was not flat.

This morning was music class with Mr. Jason. The children always enjoy this class and the friends that Mr. Jason brings. Today he had Verdi and she sang songs with us and listened to the children rhythm while they shook their egg shakers.

The Kindergarten children had a visitor in our class too. Her name is Ms. Gabby. She is a student at HCC and came to observe the class. Everyone did a great job of working independently.

Today is the last day for book orders.

Tomorrow is Soccer Shots. Tennis shoes are the safest shoes for this class.

Our Halloween sign-up sheet is posted on the Kindergarten bulletin board. Please feel free to sign-up for special goodies for October 31 class party.
