This morning during circle time the children were introduced to Color Box 2. This lesson is found in the Sensorial area and helps teach color recognition, color word recognition and the spelling of color words.

The word of the day from Soccer Shots is encouragement. The children practiced encouraging their team mates to do their best during their scrimmage game. Each child who participates in Soccer Shots received a new Soccer Jersey today. Please check your child’s backpack for it.

Tomorrow is Yoga and Chapel. Yoga begins at 9:00. Girls are encouraged to wear shorts under their dress. Chapel begins at 10:30.

Today we talked about our senses. We learned that we have five senses that help us: see, hear, taste, smell, and touch(feel).

Do you know what our olfaction sense is? We learned that our olfaction sense is our sense of smell. We worked on our sense of touch with the rough and smooth lesson in our sensorial area. The children used their hands to feel rough and smooth. Take a look at the Mr. Potato Heads the children assembled that we labeled with our five senses.

The children received Soccer Shots jerseys today. Look in your child’s cubby for their jersey.

Harmonious Monday

October 3, 2016 by toddlertwo

Music Class was wonderful! As usual Mr. Jason brought along a friend, and a musical instrument

(in addition to the guitar). This makes Mondays merrier.

Today as you can see from the photos, our instrument of focus was the harmonica. It sounds good,

it looks interesting too, but Mr. Jason looks really tired when he’s done playing. He played some blues for us and then we played our own version of, “name that tune!”

The friend of the day was “Tiny” the Dinosaur who lives in an egg. Tiny reminded us of the rules of egg shaking.

Egg shakers are not for eating. We shouldn’t even put them in our mouths to taste. So we shook them to the tune of “I want candy!” But we sang “I want Tacos!” Cool right?

Thank you again Mr. Jason for making Mondays fun and Musical. Thanks Mom and Dad for signing us up.

See you next week!!!!

Welcome back, we hope everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather this weekend.

Today we said good bye to the month of September and hello to our new month October. We talked about some of the fun activities that occur in the month. The children were excited to see all the new books we put in the library for the month.

Music class was lots of fun. Mr. Jason brought in a harmonica that he used for us to play a name that song. He played different songs that the children guessed. He also brought his friend Tiny the dinosaur that was very excited to tell the children about Halloween.
