Apples! Apples! Apples!

We worked in the math area with a new apple quantity lesson as well as an apple quantity worksheet. We worked on numeration (1-10) as well as working on our fine motor skills. The children counted apples on individual cards and used their pincer fingers to clothes pin the amount of apples on each card. The children cut and glued numerals to the apple sets they counted on the quantity worksheet as well as coloring the apples.

Welcome back, we hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

We read books about Johnny Appleseed. We learned that his real name was John Chapman, he wore a pot on his head that he cooked with and wore as a hat, he was a friend to everyone , he did not wear shoes, and he helped to plant apple trees around the United States. We celebrated his birthday by making edible Apple Jack necklaces.

Music class was lots of fun. There was lots of laughs, singing, and dancing.

Music with Mr. Jason and Roscoe

September 26, 2016 by toddlertwo

Thank you Mr Jason for helping us get into the week with lots of fun and laughter. Today he brought along Roscoe the Raccoon. Roscoe needed our assistance in dental hygiene. As you can see in the pictures he was speaking very close to Mr. Jason’s face. Mr. Jason was having a hard time breathing………..We love our time with Mr. Jason because we get to mmmoooove, around and imagine ourselves as different people, things, or animals. We get to be really loud or really soft. Like when we’re singing, (if only you could hear our voices). We also travel different places; camping, on a bear hunt or alligator hunt. We also packed our bags and went on an airplane ride. Mondays would not be the same without Music with Mr. Jason.

This morning during music class the children enjoyed singing Down by the Bay while shaking the shakers. Mr. Jason also brought in his friend Rocky the raccoon from his camping trip. The children had fun singing and dancing with Mr. Jason.

Today is Johnny Appleseed day. We celebrated Johnny Chapman by reading his story and learning more about him. We also washed apples and made fun apple headbands.

Tomorrow is Soccer Shots. Tennis shoes are safest shoes for this class.

Individual pictures are this Friday unless your child has a sibling, then they will take their pictures Wed.
