Today was a terrific Thursday!

We had two of the children’s favorite activities: Jumpbunch and Arts Alive.

Coach Leon brought in foam pucks and styrofoam cylinders for us to play balancing games. The children had lots of fun! This afternoon we have Arts Alive class. The children always have a great time with the adventures Ms. Maddie has planned for us.

This morning during circle time the children were introduced to the lesson called, Alphabetical Order. With this lesson the children are alphabetizing the letters A-Z. This lesson will help further develop recognition of letters and prepare the children for more advanced alphabetizing.

During Jumpbunch class the children enjoyed practicing their gross motor and balancing skills with a game of Puck and Cylinder.

This afternoon during Arts Alive the children used their imagination by having a Country Campout. They went on a hike to search for creations in nature and also roasted marshmellows.

Our Thursday

September 8, 2016 by Primary Two

During our morning work session we had a large group lesson on the sandbox tracing. The children are encouraged to trace a set of their phonetic letters and then trace them in the sandbox.

Coach Leon, our Jump Bunch coach had us practicing our balancing skills. We used a puck and a small noodle.

Our Arts Alive teacher Miss Madeline took us on an imaginative camping trip.

Understanding and Responding to Children Who Bite

September 8, 2016 by Movement One

Hello,

It’s been a very exciting transition week here in Movement I, as we welcomed our new friends. Many times with transitioning children, new faces create new behaviors and we are working on helping children adjust to the new environment. Developmentally, children at this age do not have the skills to verbally communicate their needs, and often time biting will occur. To assist you in understanding the developmental appropriateness of biting please refer to the link below.
