Do you know what a compass does? We learned that a compass shows us which way to go. We saw pictures of different maps and discovered that a compass on a map is called a compass rose. The children were excited to see how a compass works while looking at one on a phone as they walked. We worked on our cardinal directions with our compass rose lesson in our science area.

The children started working on an art project using tissue paper to make candy corn We will post their completed projects soon.

Do you know what a globe is? We continued to learn about our Earth and learned that a globe is a model of the Earth. We also learned that our planet is made of land and water that are called continents and oceans.

We worked in our language area with a Halloween spot the difference work page. The children were excited to work with the lesson and use spiders to mark the differences!


The children had a great time Soccer Shots. Lots of goals were kicked and a few where even made.

Pumpkin Patch tomorrow 4-6p.m.

Music Class

We had a great time in music class yesterday. Mr. Jason brought in his friend Bob the Clam for a visit. Bob and the children went on a treasure hunt where they discovered a musical bowl! The children had a great time singing, dancing and playing the rhythm sticks.

Welcome Back!

Do you know what shape our Earth is? We looked at our globe and geometric solids lesson and learned that our Earth is a sphere.

We read the book In 1492 by Jean Marzollo and learned about Christopher Columbus’ voyage to discover new land and that the Earth was round.

The children had fun working on a Columbus Day hat and hand monster art projects.

The children were eager to work in our practical life area this morning after discovering we changed the transfer materials for the new month.

Do you know what a bruja, fantasma, and a gato are? We started practicing our Spanish Halloween vocabulary words and learned bruja is a witch, fantasma is a ghost and gato is a cat.

The children had fun making ghost, pumpkins, and monsters out of pop cycle sticks. They are excited to take them home.
