Do you know who cleans your teeth when you go to the dentist? We read the book Let’s Meet a Dentist by Bridget Heos and learned that the dentist has a helper, a hygienist, who cleans our teeth.

On circle we worked with two our classification lesson in our math area. We classified picture cards of objects we see in our homes, in our yards, and at the beach as well as desks, beds, and chairs.

Today was our first soccer shots of the Fall semester. Everyone had a great time!

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a good weekend.

We continued to learn about helpers in our communities. We learned that firefighters, police officers, paramedics, doctors, and the military are also known as first responders and they help to keep us safe during emergencies. Did you know a flag has a truck? We talked about the parts of the flag and learned that a flag has a truck, flag pole, field, canton, and a fly end. The children also colored a heart shape flag.

Reminder Soccer Shots is tomorrow our class begins at 9:00 a.m.

We worked on our cutting skills today, as we worked on a community helpers worksheet. The children cut and glued the top halves to the bottom halves of community helpers: firefighters, farmer, chef, mail carrier, and a police officer.

A big thank you to our new friend Owen who shared yummy donut holes for snack. Owen as well as our transitioning friends have had a great week in our class.

Do you know what a community is? We continued to talk about communities and learned that a community is a group of people who live in the same area. We talked about some of the people in our community that help such as police officers, firefighters, teachers, coaches, mail carriers, etc.

The children had a great time in Jumpbunch class playing a shark game. The children got to jump, walk, hop, and stomp on and over shark mats and were very excited they did not get “bitten”!

We had breakfast for lunch today! The children enjoyed eating breakfast at lunch.

If you would like your child to attend dance class (starting this Friday, September 7, 2017) and have not signed up, please take a look at the sign-up sheet posted on our classroom door.

Do you know what a veterinarian does? We worked with our community helpers lesson in our language area and learned that a veterinarian takes care of our pets. They are doctors for animals. We also learned what a doctor, dentist, firefighter, nurse, bus driver, and construction worker do by matching picture cards of the community helpers with pictures cards of items they used for their jobs.

We also read Let’s Meet a Police Officer by Gina Bellisario and learned about some of the things they do.
