We continued to learn about cardinal directions with our compass rose lesson. The children used a compass rose work page to help fill in a blank work with the correct directions.

The children had a great time practicing their putting skills in Jumpbunch class using golf clubs and balls that Coach Leon brought for us. Everyone had fun swinging their clubs.

The children are very excited about the pumpkin patch this afternoon, they cannot wait to pick their perfect pumpkin.

Did you know that a compass helps to show us which way to go?

On circle we learned about the compass. We showed the children a toy compass, a compass on a phone, and a compass on a map(called a compass rose). We showed the children how their bodies could become a compass( head is north, feet are south, right arm is west, and left arm is east).

Did you know that today is the day that Christopher Columbus reached new land on his voyage? The children worked on a Christopher Columbus worksheet, with which we helped him on his voyage to discover new land. The children were excited to discover a compass rose on the worksheet.

Reminder: Pumpkin Patch is tomorrow 4:00p.m.- 6:00p.m.

The children were excited to discover the new Halloween objects in our Practical life area. The children worked on their pincer finger grasp as they hung ghost on a clothes line using clothes pins.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend.

In music class we had a visit from Mr. Jason’s friend Verdie the lamb. The children were very excited to sing “Mary had a little lamb” to him. Verdie brought shakers for the children to play.

Did you know that our Earth is a sphere shape? Today we talked about Christopher Columbus’ voyage across the Atlantic Ocean with his three ships The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria and the discovery of new land and an Earth that was not flat.

On circle we worked with the cards and counters lesson from the math shelf. We worked on numeration (1-10) as we counted candy corn counters for each of the empty numbered jar cards.

The children had a fun time playing with balls in Jumpbunch class. They bounced, kicked, and threw balls to a friend as well as playing on their own.

Picture orders are due tomorrow. Checks can be made out to Life Touch or you can place your orders online.
