Welcome back, we hope every had a great weekend.

Did you know a seed has a coat? We worked with a seed nomenclature lesson in the science area. We learned the names of some of the parts of the seed: seed coat, seed leaf, embryo, and radical.

Today was the first day of summer music class. This week was Texas week, the children had a great time singing and dancing along with Mr. Jason to songs about Texas and by Texan musicians . The children also enjoyed visiting with Mr. Jason’s friend Rocky the Raccoon, who told them about his adventures.

Did you know there are seeds you can eat?

On circle we worked with a seed and plant matching lesson with which we matched picture cards of seeds with picture cards of its plant. We matched and learned the names of fennel, cumin, pumpkin, sunflower, flax, poppy, sesame, and mustard seeds. All of these seeds are seeds that are edible.

The children are excited to work with a new water color lesson on the art shelf. We are excited to see what works of art they create.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a good weekend.

Did you know that June is the sixth month of the year? While working on the calendar this morning we learned that June is the sixth month of the year as well as month that is in the summer season.

On circle we learned that a garden grows by planting seeds. A seed has three important things it needs to grow: water, air, and light. It must have all three things for it to grow.

Reminder Splash Days begin this Friday, June 10, 2016.
