Today we reviewed the facts we learned about the needs of a seed and the lifecycle of a seed. We reviewed the three things a seed need to grow are air, water, and light. When a seed is planted it will grow into whatever type of seed you planted (i.e. an orange seed will grow into an orange tree). A seed first grows roots than a shoot will grow into a seedling, then a plant that has buds that will bloom into flowers that sometimes will give us fruits.

We are saying goodbye to three of our friends Paige, Anna, and Ivan. We are sad to see them leave but wish them the very best in their new adventures that await them.

Today we reviewed the names of the parts of the flower. We worked with the flower nomenclature lesson yesterday and reviewed the lesson today. The children are doing a great job remembering the names and what the parts of the flower are.

The children had fun playing an animal guessing game during our circle time. We read the book What Am I? by Iza Trapani which gave us clues about different types of animals.

This afternoon we are having a make-up class for music. The children are excited to see who Mr. Jason will bring along to visit with them.

Did you know that a flower has parts that are boys and girls?

We worked in the science area with the flower nomenclature lesson. We are learning the names of some of the parts of the flower. The calyx holds the flower together, the corolla is made up of petals, the stamen are the boy parts of the flower, and the pistil is the girl part of the flower. The children were surprised to discover the flower had a boy and a girl part.

Today was the last class for Soccer Shots this semester.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a good weekend.

On circle we worked with the farm family lesson in the science area. We reviewed the families in the lesson: pig, cattle, chicken, sheep, and horse and introduced new families: duck, goose, turkey, rabbit, goat, cat and dog . We are learning the names of the mom, dad, and baby of each family.

The children had a fun time playing the bells and dancing to funk and rock music in music class.

Stop by and take a look at the flower art project we worked on today. The children painted flowers using forks!

Do you know what a unit looks like? We worked with the introductory tray in the math are and saw what a unit, ten, hundred, and thousand look like. A unit is a small cube, a ten is ten units together in a bar, a hundred is a hundred units together in a square, and a thousand is a thousand units together in a large cube.

The children had a fun time practicing their Frisbee throwing skills in Jumpbunch class. We are looking forward to the adventure that awaits us in Arts Alive class this afternoon.

Tomorrow is dance class.
