On circle we reviewed what we learned about rotation and revolution. The children were excited to report that it had gotten darker when they got home last night. We also worked with our sequencing lesson in our language area. We told a story in order about getting a haircut, tying shoe laces, putting on rain gear, and making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Do you know what elote is? We practiced our Spanish vocabulary words and learned that elote is corn. The children are excited to learn new Spanish words.

The children had a fun time in music class yesterday afternoon. Mr. Jason took us on a drive to the beach since the weather was so warm. We walked along the beach, listened to seagulls, went on a whale hunt, surfing, had a visit from Bob the Clam and a friendly shark named Steve, and played the rhythm sticks.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend.

Did you know the Earth moves in two different ways? We talked about the time change and learned that the Earth moves in two different ways. Rotation, when the Earth turns on its axis and gives us day time and night time and revolution, the Earth’s journey around the sun bringing us the four seasons. Rotation takes one day and revolution takes one year. We also learned that with our time change our days are going to be shorter and our nights longer.

During our worktime we worked on our order, coordination, concentration, and independence with our acorn sorting lesson as well as other lessons in our practical life area. The children were excited to see the new transfer items in the lessons.

The children talked about last night’s game and were very happy with the results. They were excited to see a highlight video of last night’s game and big win!

We said good-bey to the month of October and reviewed what we learned about the compass, maps, fire safety and Halloween.

The children were excited to share their Halloween adventures of trick-o-treating and passing out candy. The children who did both enjoyed both getting and giving treats equally.

On circle we worked on left and right directions. We worked with the left and right vehicle lesson. The children classified picture cards of different types of vehicles going in left or right direction.

During our playtime we went on a bear hunt and safely return from our adventure in time for lunch.
