August 8, 2017 by Primary One

The children had a great time in music class yesterday. Mr. Jason brought his guitar to play as we sang songs and his speaker for us to listen to as we danced. We enjoyed visiting with his friend Jacque the Skunk and the shakers he brought for us to play. Yesterday was the last music class of the summer, Mr. Jason will return on August 28th for the beginning of the Fall classes.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend!

Today we worked on patterning. The children helped to create patterns to show our friends AB patterning. The children were excited to create their own patterns with our pig patterning lesson in the language area.

The children had fun pretending to be snakes, turtles, kangaroos, bunnies, and cheetahs on the sidewalk during our morning playtime.

Did you know that words that rhyme sound the same? We worked with a rhyming card lesson in our language area, we matched picture cards of things that rhyme like cake/rake; hat/cat; hen/pen; etc. The children also enjoyed reading a rhyming book and singing a rhyming song.

We went fishing this morning in Jumpbunch. The children had a fun time fishing. Coach Leon brought fishing rods and fish for the children to catch.

What do you do on a hot August day? During our playtime some of the children used their imaginations to ice skate! They used leaves as their skates and had a great time.
