This morning we continued to talk about Ireland. We looked at pictures of the beautiful green plants that grow in Ireland.

Did you know a tree is a plant? We worked with our tree nomenclature lesson in our science area and learned that a plant has roots, stem, branches, and leaves.

The children enjoyed listening to the story Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae about a giraffe who didn’t think he could dance until he discovered his own song. Thanks to our friend Smith for sharing his book with us.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend!

On circle we saw pictures of the Irish country side, a map of Ireland, and a picture of Ireland from outer space. Did you know that an island is land surrounded by water? We discovered that Ireland is an island.

The children had a great time in Arts Alive! Our theme today was Wheels! The children drove cars, rode bicycles, mixed cement as a cement mixer, and plowed snow.

On circle we reviewed the rhyming and practical life lessons we presented this week. The children also worked on a rhyming worksheet, they are having a great time rhyming and are even trying to create their own words to rhyme.

The children are doing well with the new Spanish vocabulary words.

The children are really enjoying working with rhyming. They are enjoying the lessons on our language area and listening for words that rhyme as we are reading books during circle time.

Our class had a great time during Jumpbunch class. Coach Leon brought in an obstacle course for the children to do. They jumped, balanced, hopped and even go to use a trampoline!

The children were excited to work with our new shamrock finding lesson in our practical life area. The children used their skills of order, concentration, coordination, and independence to tong shamrocks that were hidden under corn kernels.

Our class enjoyed stretching with Mr. Nick in yoga this morning as well as listening to the story Farther Art told us about going on long journeys and enjoying the time when the journey ends.
