On circle we read two books: The Crayon Box that Talked about crayons that did not like each other until they work together to draw a beautiful drawing and Martin Luther King Jr. and learned about Dr. King’s dream of everyone being kind to each other.

We had a fun time playing flying disk in Jumpbunch class. Coach Adrienne brought foam disk for the children to practice throwing and rolling.

We worked with the color box II lesson from the sensorial area. We matched the color tablets that were the same color and labeled them with color cards. We also said the names of the colors in English and Spanish.

We had a very relaxing time stretching and practicing our breathing in yoga class with Mr. Nick.

REMINDER: Silly Hat Day is this Friday, January 13, 2017. We cannot wait to see everyone’s hat!

Our class was abuzz with busy bees during our work time! The children worked on numeration

(1-10), phonetic sounds, the days of the week, fine motor skills with perforating squares, and tracing and coloring work sheets and practical life lessons.

Today was the first soccer shots of the new semester. It is not to late to sign-up your child for soccer if you would like them to attend. Stop at the front desk for more information.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great and warm weekend.

A big topic of discussion was the cold weather this weekend. The children talked about staying indoors, playing games, watching t.v. , and staying warm. On circle we worked in the science area with the animal home lesson. We matched picture cards of a bear, frog, bee, horse, bird, and a prairie dog and matched them with pictures of their homes.

We continued to talk about the weather and read the book I Am Snow. We learned that snowflakes have six sides and that no snowflakes look alike. With the colder weather some of the children thought we might get to see some snowflakes!

The children have been working on a fun dot art ice skates. Take a look at their cool work on our bulletin board.
