Today our class swept up flies. Our sweeping lesson in our practical life area has plastic flies for the children to sweep up. The children were excited to work with the lesson and practice sweeping!

During our circle time we reviewed the lessons and topics presented and discussed on line. The children shared what they learned about Christopher Columbus, sink and float, and the compass.

Take a look at the Halloween Day snack sign-up sheet on our classroom door. Please feel free to sign up for any of the items you would like to bring in.

Have a great weekend!

We continued to learn about cardinal directions with our compass rose lesson. The children used a compass rose work page to help fill in a blank work with the correct directions.

The children had a great time practicing their putting skills in Jumpbunch class using golf clubs and balls that Coach Leon brought for us. Everyone had fun swinging their clubs.

The children are very excited about the pumpkin patch this afternoon, they cannot wait to pick their perfect pumpkin.

Did you know that a compass helps to show us which way to go?

On circle we learned about the compass. We showed the children a toy compass, a compass on a phone, and a compass on a map(called a compass rose). We showed the children how their bodies could become a compass( head is north, feet are south, right arm is west, and left arm is east).

Did you know that today is the day that Christopher Columbus reached new land on his voyage? The children worked on a Christopher Columbus worksheet, with which we helped him on his voyage to discover new land. The children were excited to discover a compass rose on the worksheet.

Reminder: Pumpkin Patch is tomorrow 4:00p.m.- 6:00p.m.

Welcome back, we hope everyone had a great weekend.

In music class we had a visit from Mr. Jason’s friend Verdie the lamb. The children were very excited to sing “Mary had a little lamb” to him. Verdie brought shakers for the children to play.

Did you know that our Earth is a sphere shape? Today we talked about Christopher Columbus’ voyage across the Atlantic Ocean with his three ships The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria and the discovery of new land and an Earth that was not flat.
